When I arrived in Athens, I was captivated by the city's rich history and vibrant culture. Exploring ancient ruins and monuments, such as the Acropolis and Temple of Poseidon, brought my history lessons to life in a way that a textbook ever could. Exploring these historic sites, I could almost hear the past and feel the centuries of history beneath me. This immersive experience deepened my appreciation for my studies and fueled my passion for learning.
One of the highlights of my program was traveling to the islands of Aegina, Paros, Crete, and Santorini with a group of seven amazing people, three of whom I had never met before. The bonds we formed and the memories we created together are priceless. I vividly remember our adventures on ATVs, exploring the stunning landscapes of Santorini, and cliff jumping before witnessing the surreal sunset at Oia. Sitting on a rocky ledge with my friends, watching the sun Kraft 2 dip below the horizon to the sound of crashing waves, was a moment of pure bliss. It was a life bucket-list experience that we will all cherish forever.

Throughout my time in Greece, I learned valuable life lessons about positivity and patience. Traveling can be exhausting, and there were times when it would have been easy to complain about being tired or hungry. However, the constant positivity and encouragement from my group taught me the power of perspective. We chose to focus on the incredible experiences we were having rather than the minor inconveniences. This mindset shift is something I have carried with me beyond this trip and will continue to apply in my daily life.
Additionally, living in a non-English speaking environment improved my communication skills and taught me to navigate cultural differences with respect and adaptability. Interacting with locals and learning about their customs and traditions gave me a deeper understanding of and appreciation for Greek culture. This experience has made me more open-minded and culturally aware, qualities that are invaluable in today's globalized world.
