Edward Curtis will give a presentation on his book Muslims of the Heartland at MSU's Broad Art Museum on Sep 28, 2022.

Join us for this three-part event, which includes an afterhours opportunity to view the exhibition Zaha Hadid Design: Untold from 6-7pm; a lecture by and conversation with renowned scholar of Muslim American, African American, and Arab American history Dr. Edward Curtis IV from 7:00-8:15; and a book signing with the author from 8:15-9. Copies of Dr. Curtis’ new book Muslims of the Heartland will be available for purchase at the event. Attend for one, two, or all three parts!
This event is in partnership with the Muslim Studies Program and the MSU Libraries. Reading the book is not required to attend and enjoy the program.”

Edward Curtis is a publicly-engaged scholar of Muslim American, African American, and Arab American history and life. Dr. Curtis is a Professor of Religious Studies at the Indiana University School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. Curtis holds a doctorate in religious studies from the University of South Africa, a master’s in history from Washington University, and a B.A. in religion from Kenyon College. He grew up in Southern Illinois.
