Global India Awards (GIA): Established in 2023 by the India Council, these awards honor individuals or groups demonstrating exceptional commitment to the well-being of Indian communities worldwide, dedication to quality education for younger generations, and outstanding scholarly or creative achievements that advance global understanding of India.
Global Korea Awards (GKA): Initiated in 1995 by the Council on Korean Studies, these awards recognize those who have significantly contributed to the well-being of Korean communities globally, improved understanding between Koreans and other cultures, and shown exceptional devotion to global education and cross-cultural understanding.
Both awards underscore MSU's dedication to promoting international engagement and cultural appreciation.
Throughout the academic school year the Asian Studies Center supports several language conversation hours.
The Asian Studies Center offers outreach programs for P-16 educators, students, community members, and others to increase awareness of Asian cultures and societies through educational events, workshops, curriculum development, and resources.
The Asian Studies Center supports a dynamic array of student organizations that celebrate Asian cultures, promote cultural awareness, and provide opportunities for engagement, leadership, and community building. These student groups offer platforms for language exchange, cultural exploration, professional networking, and meaningful intercultural dialogue.
