Outreach

The Asian Studies Center holds many on-campus events throughout the year including lectures, workshops, and film showings. The center occasionally holds regional, national, and international conferences.

In addition, the center offers outreach programs for P-16 educators, students, community members, and others to increase awareness of Asian cultures and societies through educational events, workshops, curriculum development, and resources.

Community Outreach

The Asian Studies Center offers six workshops for middle and high school teachers: the Teaching About East Asia Workshop, the Summer Institute for Global Studies, and the Workshops for Teachers of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Arabic.


Higher Education

The Asian Studies center promotes collaboration and partnership with many institutions in higher education including community colleges and international universities. The center also focuses on internationalizing teacher education, collaborative study and abroad initiatives.


K‑16 Programs

The Asian Studies Center offers a wide variety of activities and events for K-16 students and teachers.
