Map of Thailand

For Teachers

Thailand has the distinction of being the only Southeast Asian country never colonized by the West as its kings deftly played Western nations off against each other to retain their independence. Thailand is a constitutional monarchy in which the king is a Buddhist; Thailand is about 95 percent Buddhist and monks and nuns play an important role in the economy, politics, and especially in economic development.Thailand is blest with abundant water and good agricultural land, access to the sea and good natural resources.  It has a long history which has left many ruins of both Hindu and Buddhist kingdoms; it has an exciting and vibrant cultural life both in the cities and the villages. For more information on Thailand, please click on the above buttons.
