MCAA Workshop for K-12 Teachers
Bringing Asia Into the K-12 Classroom
Each year the MCAA (Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs) hosts a one-day workshop for K-12 teachers in conjunction with its annual meeting. This year’s workshop will be held on Friday, September 23, 2005, from 8:00am to 5:00pm at MSU, and will focus on effectively integrating Asia into the classroom.
The workshop will feature local experts leading sessions on topics chosen to highlight local resources, including an introduction to the Asian Studies Center's "Windows on Asia" website and a guided walk of the Asian collection at the Kresge Art Museum. Special attention will be paid to teaching Asia through technology, art, and literature. Workshop Schedule
The workshop is offered free of charge to teachers of all grade levels. Teachers are invited to attend the Saturday and Sunday sessions of the regular MCAA Conference for a fee of $10.00.
